TenneT converter platforms

TenneT is a leading European grid operator committed to providing a secure and reliable supply of electricity – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

As a cross-border transmission system operator, TenneT plans, builds and operates an almost 24,500-kilometer high-voltage and extra-high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and Germany and is one of the largest investors in national and international electricity grids, on land and at sea.

To bring green wind energy from sea to land, TenneT builds and operates converter platforms in the North Sea, where the electrical energy supplied by wind farms is converted into direct current and then transmitted to land. The long distance to the coast poses a particular challenge for medical care.

TenneT attaches particular importance to occupational health and safety at the highest level and has therefore relied on GHC’s safe telemedicine solution from the outset. TenneT has been using AescuLink continuously since 2015, starting with version V1.0 and then with updates to version V1.21, on all its converter platforms. This solution has proven to be a valuable tool for ensuring the health and safety of TenneT’s employees and service providers and helps to maintain high standards in occupational health and safety.
